Welcome to Saunemin, IL

First settled in the 1860’s at what is now the intersections of Illinois Routes 47 and 116 and was moved to its present location in 1879 when the Wabash Railroad was built. Saunemin is a friendly and safe place to live and raise a family with an excellent school system including a Fitness Center that was realized by a joint venture between the School District and the Village. There is a very active, community-minded Church and a Community Center for events, club activities and is available for wedding receptions, parties, etc.
